Paying Tribute to Abraham Lincoln at the Lincoln Memorial

You may have seen this 1922 neo-classical monument etched on coins or in a movie, but you must visit it in person to witness its true grandeur and historical magnificence. A tribute to the 16th U.S. President Abraham Lincoln, this structure will woo you with its Greek temple-inspired architecture and the massive statue of the late President that sits right at the center of it.

Adding to the appeal of this place are the two famous speeches of the late President—Gettysburg Address and the Second Inaugural Speech—inscribed on the walls. If you are a history buff looking to get a peek into the life of Lincoln, then this is the place to be.
